[style= padding: 10px;]in all honesty, she could not believe that it'd been near two hundred and thirty years since she'd not only lost her family, her children, but became the monster she currently is. it'd been over two decades since she'd first heard the wolf's voice in her head, felt the instincts urging her to do things she'd never thought possible. to run within the woods, under the stars, to feel the night across the fur that she now called her own. it was strange, especially when she thought about how long ago it'd happened. the attack. the rogue wolf that had plagued her home, killed her husband, killed her children, but spared her and a couple other people from the peace of death. [/style][atrb=border,0,true]even now she could see her husband, william, laying on the floor, the blood everywhere, the light having gone out in his eyes as the last thing he looked at seemed to be their home. he'd never stood a chance against the large black wolf that had attacked. looking back now, edith knew she should have listened to her husband and stayed inside. protected the children as best she could. then maybe she wouldn't have lost them either. no. instead she decided she needed to be with him and not the children. had wanted to check on him, and make sure he was alright. lifting her gaze from the ground as she walked along the road, edith just shook her head. there was no reason to be thinking that it was all her fault that her family was now dead. letting her gaze linger around the park, she noticed a lone bench. the mixture of wood and iron twisted into something that you can sit on and watch the wind flow through the flowers and trees in a soothing song. taking a seat on the far right side, running a hand through her dark brown hair, edith stayed there. the thoughts of the past slowly fading. she shouldn't blame herself, she knew that now. she had enough to live for now. a home. a pack. friends. things could be better if her family had lived, but she was fine with where she was. resting her hands in her lap, edith lifted her head once more and looked around, wondering if she'd see anyone she knew, or even ones she didn't. who they were, what they did, even what they were like. that's all she wanted to know. she could care less if they were other werewolves or even if they were vampires. nothing really mattered. each person was different in their own way. if she'd been a vampire instead, there wouldn't be anything different about her other than those she hunt out with. everyone would tell you who you should speak to and who you shouldn't. you just had to speak for yourself. which is what she did. even if she cared for the wolves in her pack, she'd speak with a vampire if she wanted to. it all depended on if they cared who they spoke with. she didn't know if someone would come speak with her, or just ignore her, either way. it was a beautiful day. |
