Ever since the creation of their kind, wolves have been separated. According to old legends, it all started when the creators separated the pure from the wicked. The 'pure souls' and the 'corrupted souls' were soon recognized by their eye color. Most were various shades of red and blue; but others, who were considered neutral, were gray. War eventually broke out between the two main sides. The war was long, but eventually the two sides grew weary. Conflict still occurred, but serious fights were few and far in between.
Around the same time, the gods were having their own problems. Seven of the gods were forced to banish one of their own, Tor, who only sought power rather than peace. After the war ended, the gods created the messenger wolves to ensure that there would be no more wars. Messengers are wolves that are born with unique markings, and serve a specific god or goddess.
Two hundred years later is where our story takes place.
