The top layer is where the first impressions start, and really is her version of a defense mechanism . On the outside Sio can come off as a flippant, frivolous, flirtatious, destructive, and licentious. She revels in shopping, causing feuds, and flirting with those she shouldn’t in order to cause clan wars and fights, sometimes even death. Taking a stranger behind the bar or into the cab of some pick up truck isn’t uncommon for the female wolf to do, and even if she pretends to enjoy, there’s a rather large part of her that doesn’t. So why then, does she do it? Easy. To throw others off the trail of how she truly is. Underneath all of that cliquish slutty behavior is a scared, lost, little girl, whose life has never been hers to control...not to mention has a warrior’s heart of gold. It was required of Sio to step up and claim a title she was born to have, but didn’t know how to fill the shoes of others before her. It was under that pressure that she began to act out, turning into a materialistic creature that every boy wanted to get his hands on, and every woman wanted to murder. Over the years there was only one person who could see through her facade and silly game, but in a way, he only made matters worse. It’s because of this that Sio is very anti-commitment, and fears relationships or any type of male dominance...which is a considerable problem when her world is run by Alpha males. HISTORY Siobhan McCaffery was born in the hills of Ireland, into the O’Riley wolf pack, as were most in that area. It was a large pack comprised of elitist werewolves who thought it was their job to keep their blood pure, and so they were raised like soldiers from pup to adult. They were expected to ruthlessly protect their territory, monitor all towns that fell within it, while breeding for the good of the pack. After learning how to fight, females were divided out and expected to produce new crops of pups while keeping house and homes clean, while males kept the women safe and went off to fight clan wars. Everything ran like a well oiled machine, everyone had their duties, and not one thing was allowed to go against the grain...no matter how medieval that grain might sound. Of course, Sio never was one for rules. Even as a child, rather than study, Sio would run around outside in the mud, stomping into puddles with bare feet...before deciding to track the mess inside. As she became older Sio refused to cook, would run away for hours at a time, and no matter how many beatings she received from her father, or from higher pack members, her spirit never broke. In truth, it probably had the most opposite effect possible, since her resilient nature only garnered the attention of the Alpha’s son, and her future mate to be. She had no idea at the time, since the male was almost three times her age and a master at hiding emotion, and would have no idea until the day of their proposed mating. One day she had been sitting out by a lake, weaving wild flowers into her hair while celebrating her twenty-second birthday, when her father had arrived to drag her back to their Alpha’s home. Upon arrival she was given a brief explanation of how she was being given away, expected to mate with the male, and be groomed to be the next Alpha female, for when the title was handed down from father to son, or other various events. At the point time, she didn’t fight. Not until they arrived in their new home together, did Sio make it clear she wasn’t fulfilling all the duties of a wife...after which a fight ensued that was set the pattern for the following year. Her mate would give an order, Sio would defy it just to annoy him. He would put his hands on her (though not beat like her elders once had), and she handle him just as roughly. He would even try to ignore her antics, by which she responded flirting and cavorting around until he would kill or maim the unlucky guy who had been her victim. Siobhan would never tell a soul..but she didn’t blame him for his behavior, but only herself. She didn’t know how to lead a pack, how to command respect, and she didn’t want to be in control of all those people...the pressure to not fail, was too much for her to even consider. Had she been given the chance to explain herself, or room to breathe, perhaps she would have admitted a small part of her enjoyed his dominating nature, in some aspects, as well as several other qualities, but she wasn’t. The icing on the cake was her mate’s grip on showing no emotions, or admitting love. As is a common trait amongst leaders, he knew an Alpha, or Alpha-in-training/Beta are always susceptible to enemies...or pack members constantly searching for a weakness, so he refused to let his wife become one. Unfortunately, Sio was hotheaded and her feelings of loneliness only increased and the situation began to worsen. In response to her licentious actions, cries for attention, and his own secretly harbored jealousies, her mate began to control every aspect of her life...even going so far as to humiliate her with a bona fide collar, a means to force her into submission. Her pleas fell on deaf ears, or so she thought, and it didn’t take long for Sio to make up her mind. Her time in Ireland was over. Gathering more than enough money from her husband’s safe, Sio stole away in the night while most of the males and females were out running through the woods. She settled in Southern England for a bit, though it was nothing like home, and happened to make a life there for all of six months, before she noticed she was being followed from work at the local pub, back to her loft. Worried she was being paranoid, Sio waited it out for a week, before she was positive...wolves were following her. Unbeknownst to Sio, her mate had sent two wolves to act as bodyguards in case harm should come to her, but she misunderstood it as him trying to drag her back. Naturally, she didn’t hesitate from running again...but a much larger difference. Crossing the ocean to America, Sio changed her last name and lived life as a traveller, jumping from one truck pit stop to another, sometimes giving herself up in exchange for rides. It wasn’t that she needed to do it, hell, she could have walked miles and never gotten tired...it was the ever present paranoia. What if more Irish wolves were watching her? Reporting back to her mate? If so she wanted to do everything she could to anger him, act as wild and free as she could. Fast forward two years later and Sio is a slightly changed woman who's decided to settle in Bad Rock. She’s returned to her true name, no longer looks over her shoulder, and hides almost all of her past...usually spinning lies to keep it covered up. Having crossed paths with many other wolves, Sio values her loner or rouge identity, more often than not challenging other recruiters to leave her the fuck alone instead of meekly keeping her mouth shut like once before. Once the paranoia seceded her happy yet flirty nature returned, making the bar and club scene her true element. No one knows she’s an Alpha back home, or that she’s even mated to man who doesn’t like to share. Inside she knows one day he will probably find her, and it’s one she fears and looks forward too, since a very small part of her does miss clashing with him...but it’s one she’s terrified to giving into. Even if she’s a much stronger, and changed woman, she’s still just that some old lost and scared girl inside, though seeing past her artificial confidence...is a job all on it’s own ADDITIONAL NOTES So, I am still unsure if Siobhan is a stand alone character or the start of a new wolf pack that will shortly be arriving in Bad Rock, at a later time. If so I do plan on having her mate, his betas, and few others return and found a new pack in America. One with much different views, yet some core similar opinions with the existing one. But, I’m still on the fence about it. In essence, she’s just a woman too scared to grow up, lead a pack, and give into the principals she grew up with. PLAYED BY : Artemis |
