It was bar noise. And after a while if you worked long enough it slowly just began to fade into background noise. You stopped flinching every time a beer bottle was dropped and shattered on the ground or when two men decided to have a brawl in the middle of the dance floor. No all these things where just part of the job. All this background noise was exactly what Dimitri needed tonight. The cacophony made his nerves settle, here at least he did not have to worry about what the mate at home was doing, and here he did not have to worry about falling into a rage because of the idiots in his pack. Taking a deep breath Dimitri set down the beer glass on the counter he had been drying out and grabbed the next one from the sink. He always pondered how this place put him at ease so quickly. Just the smell of the hard alcohol made his nerves still and his heart to pick up a normal beat again. Scotty's had always been his favorite bar in town and the owner was and always had been a close friend to the Dragomirov pack. The owner Scott was well aware of the werewolf pack and so long as they didnt tear the place up they where more then welcome to come get a relaxing drink here. After all they where good business and their pack leader was one hell of a bar tender.
Dimitri had been given the job as bar tender a long time ago, nearly twenty years ago to be exact. Of course people never really thought twice about it, some women would comment on how well he aged and others would just pass over it. If he aged well why should they give a shit? Dimitri was a well known face around here and some people even began to think he owned the place but after reassuring them that it was not in his capable hands he went about his business. Dimitri watched as if in slow motion as the man a few bar stools down from him began to lift his arm. He was going to ask for his fifth shot of the night. Jack Daniels was his drink of choice tonight. Dimitri watched as the mans arm muscles bunched and stretched until he was raising his arm his pointer finger raised above his head. Grunting in reply the bar tender put a shot glass down in front of the man and followed with another for himself. Filling both glasses Dimitri looked the man over, he did not seem to be a hard drinker. After all he was already starting to sway on his bar stool and his eyes where glazed over. Hopefully Dimitri could share this shot with the man and leave before he had to hear the sob story as to why the man was in Scotty's on a Monday night drinking his sorrows away. Filling the glasses with whiskey Dimitri's large hand wrapped around the oval glass and brought it to his lips. Clearly an old pro at taking shots he threw the liquid down his throat and smirked as the man in front of him choked on his own. "Cant take your alcohol can ya?" His words went unheard by the drunk man, and Dimitri took his leave then.
Returning to his beer glasses his hands found their routine as he began to wash, rinse and dry again. "Dimitri. Yea Im talking to you son. I am going to go home can you make sure to lock up for me?" Scotty's voice was a moment to late in announcing his presence, Dimitri's highly sensitive nose had already cued into his strange scent. He had never been able to pin point Scots smell but it was a mixture of cigarette smoke and some sort of alcohol he mixed in his own little canteen. Nodding he waved over his shoulder without turning to look at the man goodbye. He usually locked up when it was this late. Dimitri was not a regular bar tender, after all his pack took priority over everything else and so he only really worked here when it truly suited him. That morning Dimitri had gotten into a passive aggressive argument with his mate; after trying to kiss her goodbye when she dodged his kiss pretending that she was yawning he nearly threw her across the room. Of course thats what he wanted to do anyways he would never lay a hand on her. 'What is that damn womans problem? I have only done good by her. I have given her the most respect and honor a mate can offer and still she refuses me. I dont know why I even try anymore.' Growling softly Dimitri eyed the bar room once more. There was no one dancing tonight and only a few alcoholics perched on there chairs slowly sipping on their hard drinks.
Maybe thats what he should do. Become an alcoholic. Run away from his pack and his mate and settle down here as a old bar mat. He after all would look good here as the permanent furniture. Rolling his eyes Dimitri ran his hand through his hair pushing back the ragged brown hair that was getting to long. It was always in his eyes these days it was most definitely time for a hair cut. But then again he always had the Mrs. do that and he for certain was not going to let her cute little dainty paws touch his head tonight. God that woman. Grabbing another shot glass Dimitri began to fill and drink. Hell Scot was gone why not help himself? Swallowing back three shots right after one another Dimitri winced as the liquid burned in the back of his throat. Well this should take the edge off things? However he would have to drink much more then anyone else in the room considering he was a werewolf and his high temperature burned the alcohol out of his system quickly. It was midnight now and that meant two hours till last call when he could kick these slugs out of his bar and find him Stephen, maybe that man could explain his horrible life situation.

The young vampire could flirt with the best of them but there was always the time where she just wanted to be left alone. She stretched herself out on bed, giving Nathaniel a call with the hopes she could convince him to come back home. At least with Nate around those pestering males left the leggy blonde alone but he was still much too far away dealing with work and Dani was on her own. Hide in her home with Alice or brave the boys that seemed to act as though the blonde was a cat in heat. Of course they didn’t realize that Dani hadn’t been with a guy that wasn’t Nate in quite some time, he could get overly jealous at times but never seemed to find when she played with another female. Dani pulled her lips back to bare her fangs in irritation when she only got Nate’s voicemail, letting out a huff. She definitely needed a strong drink.
Not that she would get that drunk, but the taste of good liquor was enough to make her feel better. The only place close enough was Scotty’s Bar and rumor had it that werewolves liked to spend their time at the place. Dani had never met a wolf before, Alice believed them to be much too dangerous for a young vampire to be around but really would they cause trouble in a public place? The blonde hopped up from her bed and checked herself in the mirror. Dani loved to dress up but wearing a red mini-dress probably would only call more attention. Alice was out of the house at work so Dani had free reign to go where she pleased. Dani would probably get scolded later when Alice found that the girl had visited a place that possibly had werewolves but the girl would deal with that then. It wasn’t so difficult to make Alice happy again; at least it wasn’t difficult for Dani.
The drive was quick, after so many years Dani had yet get caught by a cop for speeding. Just luck and knowing of how to pull it off. She parked and walked into the bar, nose wrinkling at the scent of smoke. Really Dani didn’t know what she expected; the place was far from fancy but it did mean that they probably had something strong as well as a possible meal. The blonde licked her lips and slipped over to the bar, finding the bartender. Two shots of vodka. the girl told him, Swedish accent making itself known as she spoke. Even after seventy years the woman still hadn’t released her heritage, her English was fluent but the accent would always remain. She pulled out her money and laid several bills on the bar, plump lips twisting into a frown to find that the bartender was too busy downing his own shots to pay any attention to her.
She tapped her fingers impatiently. Vodka, yes? she asked him, tapping the bar with her fingertips. Usually the girl was patient but after driving to a place just for the drink it wasn’t pleasing to watch the bartender get drunk while she still had nothing. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

On any other night he would have immediately gone on watch; counting everyone in the bar both human and other 'types'. He would have watched her like a hawk and perhaps even tried to get her drunk and incoherent so he could ship her out sooner. But tonight was most definitely a night full of would haves and should haves; it had started that way for Dimitri long before the blonde vampire had walked in this bar. Fate had thrown a cruel curve ball at Dimitri and instead of catching it today had hit him upside the head and sent him spiraling into chaos. Fill and drink. Fill and drink. The pattern was easy to follow and with each swallow of alcohol he could feel his concerns falling to the back of his mind. His muscles relaxing across his shoulders and his ever so slowly his natural abilities loosing their edge. Of course alcohol was normally a werewolves best friend when they wanted to escape the 'curse' as some called it. It made everything feel almost human again when you drank enough of the intoxicating spirits.
Tap. Tap. Tap. The noise slowly began to register in the back of Dimitri's mind and as it fought its way to the surface he could not help but tense once more as the scent of the blood sucker reached his nostrils. Pupils enlarging he turned slowly a rich scowl spread across his lips. Vampires where not usually welcome here and the reputation the place had as a hangout for the Drago pack usually kept most unwanted visitors away. But obviously this vampire was daft and could not smell the scent of werewolves all over the place or she was just too courageous for her own good. Perhaps on a better night Dimitri could have held back his nasty looks or the deep growl that rumbled from his chest. His steps where smooth as he moved over towards her position at the bar. His hands found the bottle of Grey Goose Vodka quickly and allowing it to fall down a bit to hard on the bar counter he placed two shot glasses in front of her. "Yes Vodka it shall be. But then you better explain my dear why the hell your in my bar." His tone was sharp as he tipped the bottle forward his sensitive nose picking up the fumes the alcohol gave off. 'She must be the prissy type if she is drinking Vodka.' The thought made the brute of a man smirk as he finished filling her glasses.
Dimitri was a formidable foe for the Vampire community in Bad Rock, nearly everyone knew his face and his over all feelings for the vampires living in his town. Dimitri felt as though it was his job to protect the human population from having there jugular pieced and sucked dry. Of course he tried not to cause to much trouble or stir the pot to much but it was hard for Dimitri's presence not to make waves when there where other vampires around. Running his fingers through his hair to push back the annoying locks he looked down on the blonde vampire. Perhaps she wasnt here to cause any trouble, and if all she wanted to do was sip her Vodka and drink her own sorrows away then he would be ok with her. But if she planned on sneaking out with any of the drunk fellers lining the wall to suck from she would have her hands full with one upset and becoming very drunk werewolf. Filling his own shot glass again he threw back another drink of whiskey as he waited for the blonde to explain herself.

Really Dani had never come across a werewolf before so she lacked any clue of how to scent them. She only knew that the man smelled highly of canine and for all she knew he probably owned a few dogs. Caring to a point it wasn’t her worry if he was having a bad day, if he acted calm enough she would as well. If he seemed like he needed some kind of comfort she would offer it, but he didn’t so she requested her drinks. She could smell that what he was putting down was taking effect to his body, tsk tsk tsk. Finally he took notice of her though his reaction was odd, she arched an eyebrow curiously. Her nose wrinkled and she licked her lips, reaching for one of the shot glasses and downing it quickly. Why do people normally go into a bar? A drink, of course. Though I’m not as depressed as they are. She tilted her head thoughtfully for a moment
Dani was a bold one and after some thought her eyes widened almost in delight. She leaned forward slightly, crystalline orbs still wide but she felt no fear as she stared at the man. Though Dani didn’t have her katanas with her there still was the little blade that hid in her pocket that could cause some damage and really, she did nothing wrong to piss the guy off anyways. It was not like Dani was going around biting everyone and if weres liked to watch over humans as much as Alice told her the vampire would probably end up going elsewhere to find a midnight snack. Really Dani didn’t see why it was so important to protect humans, there were plenty of them so what loss was it for a few to feed vampires? Besides, they did need blood to survive and Dani enjoyed living (even if she was somewhat altered).
You must be one of those werewolves! she whispered in excitement, keeping her voice low so others wouldn’t hear her words. Oh my Mother has told me about you guys. she chattered quickly. Dani sniffed in his direction, nose wrinkling again. Oh no wonder you smell like dog then. she huffed before shaking her head, eyes rolling as she remembered his question. Dani picked up the other shot glass and sipped it down, pale orbs watching the partly-drunk werewolf. She was tempted to see how much it would take to get him riled up but decided against it, they guy was pretty big and even though she was strong herself she knew werewolves were not something to play with. Oh don’t worry, I only came here for a drink of the alcoholic kind, these drunks here are safe. Though have anything stronger? I’ve got a headache I need to get rid of. she asked, licking her lips and looking around.
Though she had already planned to go elsewhere later for a meal it seemed one human wanted to play his luck, pressing against the young-looking blonde and groping at her. She let out a growl and pushed him away, scowling in irritation, Beat it. she hissed in warning, could she ever get peace? Letting out a grumble as she watched the man move on Dani eyed the werewolf again, Honestly some of them just asked to be killed!

[style=background-color:#56704B; color:#E6DDBC; padding:10px; width:430px; font-family:georgia; font-size:9px; text-align: justify;] Dimitri would never understand Vampires, the way they smelt was one thing in particular that he could not break down. They reeked of blood, it seemed impossible to cleanse the beasts of the scent. It made sense in a way because their main substance of diet was blood. However the smell was not that of fresh blood but almost a fragrance mixture. Dimitri hated it, he preferred the rich smells of the forest, life and all things alive. The thought of pine needles sparked the angry grudge in his stomach as he thought back to Zehenya his mate, how could she be so loving with him one day and so cold the next. But he did truly love the damned woman and she did smell of pine needles. Licking his lips Dimitri turned his attention back to the female vampire sitting in front of him. She looked young, she obviously had not make her bloody mark on the world yet...all the better to rid the world of her. Clenching his hands into fists beneath the bar he resisted growling once more, if he had been in his wolf form he would have already bared his teeth and heckled up. This was his territory and she was trespassing.
But in all actuality this was not his bar, and vampires where not banned from entering the doors. Perhaps in a different time and place Dimitri could have taken care of the issue. But they were not standing in his forest, surrounded by the ancient and wise trees. The wind was not calling him to run and the moon was not filling his veins with power. Then he would not hesitate to kill the vampire sitting across the bar from him; the world would be better off with her gone. After all humans where important and should be protected. These vampires took life without a second thought, they murdered to sustain themselves. Werewolves did not need to kill to other humans to survive. Vampires where an abomination and should all be killed. Watching as she swallowed the first drink he could not help but scowl; such a waste of alcohol. After all it wasnt really going to do anything for her. Vampires had long ago stopped digesting their food. They took no nutritional value from it and instead just consumed. They where such a useless species.
Her smart-alic comment made Dimitri stiffen as he turned to consider her again. He would prefer to ignore her until she left but it was obvious she had taken an interest in him; this was just going to slow his drinking and that meant Zen would stay on his mind a bit longer tonight. Raising an eyebrow at the blonde blood sucker her sniffed sharply. ”If all your drinking tonight is alcohol then we should be fine. Make a single move and I will make sure your drinking your own blood tonight vampire. Dimitri was not one to skirt around the issue and he was not about to let this monster push him around in his own bar. The word vampire was hushed but still dropped like a hammer from his lips as he growled softly to reiterate his point. Her next comment took him a bit by surprise however as she leaned forward as if almost excited to be meeting him. ’Im not some fucking puppy dog dear.’ The thought flashed through his mind not quiet reaching his lips as he heard her speak. Her mother? Oh right. Vampires sometimes had odd relationships with their creators, a completely fucked situation if you asked Dimitri.
"Well arnt you a smart little cookie. And did your mother tell you how its a normal sport to kill vampires that mess around with our people in this city?" Pulling a stronger alcohol from behind the bar Dimitri filled her shot glass again. He personally was a fan of this drink and if it was a headache she had it would numb it pretty quick but it would also numb many of her other senses and abilities such was the flip side of drinking. Her comment about only drinking alcohol seemed to put him a bit at ease and he tried to make his appearance not so rough; after all people where starting to pick up on his frustration and anger. Watching the strange interaction between the man and the vampire he could not help but smirk at the idiot; some men certainly though with their head...but not the one sitting above their shoulders. "No human deserves to be killed by vampire hands, its a brutal and disgusting business to drain the life of a human. And to reanimate it..its a disgusting business. His words where quiet but they still where rough and held a threat. He hated everything she was and stood for. Taking another shot he grimaced as the alcohol burnt his throat. Pushing the shot glass towards her he threw a mixture of a scowl and grin at her. "Drink up lass. And tell me what is your name?"
