the species
Alright so we would all like to think we know everything...at least I would like to think that I did myself. However because we don't actually have all the knowledge in the world I am going to help you out. What am I talking about? Well our four main species running around the hills of Bad Rock. Yes that's right our boring humans, thirsty vampys, shifty shifters, and our wet dog werewolves. If you would like to suggest any additions to these four main species take it up with an admin. Otherwise please read and familiarize yourself with these great creatures!

Every werewolf wears his/her 'wolf form' differently some of them walk upright and have long thick coats while others are nearly naked and walk on four legs. Just as an individual looks different every Werewolf also looks different. It is often very hard to tell a werewolf by just first glance because they appear to just be a normal human. However for the trained eye one will notice that when triggered with a high emotional feeling their eyes tend to flash a bright yellow, this usually is only temporary but can be a good giveaway. If you are able to come in close contact with a werewolf you will also notice that their body temperature is well above the average running around 110 degrees. A nearly lethal fever for a normal human been. Werewolves are extremely powerful both in their human and wolf form. They are able to move quickly and with age and practice can have large amounts of grace and stealth. Werewolves are a pack creature, they are usually always seen with another of their species or at least in their own territory it is rare to see lone or rogue werewolves. However it is completely possible just not truly embraced in the species. Brotherhood is very important, and they are extremely loyal. Once you have earned the trust and love of a Werewolf it is rare that you loose it. Most of the time this species are governed by their strong emotions and feelings for others and their pack. When it comes to mating werewolves are not promised to a single individual and it is not rare for a female to mate with many different males, however most prefer to find a single mate for life. This is of course required of the alpha pair in the pack. Once a werewolf has made their first initial phase the battle for sanity begins. There is always a fight between the humanity side of a werewolf and the beast or wolf side. A werewolf must learn to control both sides but it is not rare to see one take over the other. It is a hard line to walk and many struggle to find the balance. In order to be changed into a werewolf you must be infected, the only exception to this rule is if you are born of two werewolf parents because the infection of the species then carries down through the bloodline. When bitten it takes till the next full moon to actually make your first shift. This is usually a very traumatizing experience and it is suggested that new werewolves be around elders. It is literally the breaking of bones and tearing of flesh. The human form must mutilate itself to form the wolf. Once shifted a new wolf has no real understanding of its abilities or body so they tend to be clumsy and confused. The need to hunt becomes unbearable and it is rare that one is able to resist the urge. One of the greatest strengths a Werewolf has is the ability to communicate with its pack. Once bonded (a old ritual performed every full moon) a werewolf is able to hear his pack mates thoughts and speak through their mind much like telepathy. They are able to do this in both human and wolf form however it is stronger in wolf. The greatest weakness a werewolf has is to silver and wolfsbane. Silver in the blood stream will kill a Werewolf if not treated. This also slows there healing ability to that of a human. When it comes to the lifespan of a werewolf they are not immortal. However their life span is greatly exaggerated; the oldest a werewolf can reach is around 500 years. Their human body also ages but a very slow rate. It is rare to meet such an old werewolf simply because they can be a very violent race. Within the werewolf species there are two clear divisions between the members of this group. The first is that of a Pure Werewolf these are werwolves that have a pure bloodline. Meaning simply that the individual had both werewolf parents. The bloodline has never been disrupted and remains pure, thus being the reason they have given this subgroup the title. The second subgroup is known as the Infected Werewolf these are the largest in number and are not rare. A Infected werewolf was bitten in order to change. They where once a pure blooded human that was bitten by a werewolf and therefore passing on the infection. They may mate with another werewolf and create the first generation of a pure bloodline but the children are usually still considered Infected and it is not until the third of fourth generation of a pure bloodline that a werewolf can claim 'Pure' status. NATURAL ABILITIES Heightened Senses: a werewolf has a very strong sense of smell, hearing and very strong eye sight. They are able to see in very dark environments. In Human Strength: having the ability of four fully grown men a werewolf is capable of doing things that a human is simply unable to. Their strength makes up for their lack of speed (as compared to a vampire). Elongated Lifespan: a average werewolf will usually live between 120 to 200 years however the oldest they can get is around 500. Healing Ability: Werewolves have a very high healing rate. Cuts, bruises, breaks, and illness lass half the time of a humans healing rates. In wolf form they also heal quickly. A long gash can heal in a matter of minutes. It is rare that a werewolf scars, but if they are an Infected then their bite mark stays with them forever. Mental Communication: A werewolf has the ability to communicate through what they term the 'mind link'. Any werewolf can speak to another this way, however a werewolf can block or hide their emotions from a certain individual. This ability is strongest in wolf form. Additionally if a werewolf is in a pack it is rare that they can hide anything without a lot of effort from their pack mates, and it is nearly impossible to hide something from the Alpha. Chain of Command: This only applies to werewolves in a pack. Essentially this ability is gained by those in the pack that are in command. The alpha being the highest they can command any wolf in the pack, and this continues on decreasingly with each rank. The command ability is that a ranked wolf can force the wolf below him to phase, or to obey commands. A lower wolf can fight this but it goes against everything in their nature and can be very mentally weakening. ADDITIONAL NOTES ++ A werewolf bite is infectious for a human causing them to turn into a werewolf, there is no cure for this. A bite to a vampire is also deadly, in order to cure this the vampire must drink blood from the werewolf that bit them; otherwise they will die. ++The phasing between human and wolf can be very painful. The first phase is horrible, it takes hours and the werewolf is usually in great distress. However after the first time phasing time is much shorter (with practice it can be taken down to mere seconds). However the pain is a very mental thing and can be controlled and lessened by the werewolf once they are able to take control over themselves. This usually is not an ability developed until a werewolf is more mature. ++Clothing does not shift with a werewolf during the phase. It is always shredded or torn to pieces. ++Most poisons have no affect on a werewolf. However wolfsbane seems to be erosive and acidic to the touch. It will burn werewolves and if ingested can weaken and knock them out. Long term exposure such as in the air will weaken a werewolf greatly and can eventually kill them. ++Werewolves have a very strong connection to the moon, they are at their strongest physically on a full moon. Though they are not necessarily weakened during the month when the moon is not full they are certainly not at their peak. It is during a full moon that many hunts and mating rituals are held because it is when the wolf feels most at its best. The relationship between Werewolf and the Moon can be very religious, and almost obsessive. ++The average size of a werewolf in wolf form is about six to seven feet when standing on all fours. If they are the type of werewolf that walks on two legs they tend to be short usually around eight feet. ++A werewolf can mate with a human and reproduce with them as well, however all offspring will be human only (unless bitten). Vampires and werewolves will not mate. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 340px; background-image:url(http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/yellowtophatter/2ptq97l.png); padding: 30px; border: #642832 solid 30px; ] VAMPIRE Vampires have long walked the earth due to their immortal curse...or gift perhaps. Vampires by definition are human bodies that have been reanimated by a evil spirit that resembles the former spirit. However because it was unable to transfer over into eternity it was warped into a blood thirsty beast walking the earth reeking havoc on all its occupants. Of course Vampires are not mindless brutes some of them often have reformed their ways and become great assets to the community as a whole, however it is rare to see a 'good' vampire. Everything that a vampire was as a human is only intensified when they become the immortal dead. If they where greedy when human then this is only maximized to a almost unbearable level. All emotions that a human feels a vampire feels ten fold as well. This can make living almost unbearable for a vampire. Age is a large part of a vampires strength, the longer they have walked this earth as is equivalent to their power. The older a vampire the stronger and more cunning they are, they are in great control of themselves at a more mature age as well being able to go without blood for weeks if not months on end if needed. However it is impossible to go without blood entirely. There very make-up requires them to drink blood, some have found loop holes and are able to survive off animal blood but this does not allow them to be at their peak and they are weaker then a human drinking vampire. There is usually only one way to change a human into a vampire. Of course there is always the rebirth through witchcraft when a evil spirit is called back from the grave but this is very rare. Usually a vampire is created by the complete draining of their human body of blood. Once drained the corpse must then be fed a vampires blood to cause them to begin the change. Transition is very painful for a vampire and feels much like a fever at all times. There blood pressure spikes causing their heart to over work until it finally falls silent, their lungs compress until they shrivel up and last but not least they slowly begin to develop the animal like abilities, such as great speed, smell and sight. Fangs are usually the last thing to develop on a young vampire but it is when the fangs appear that a vampire is very dangerous because they must then feed to complete the transition otherwise they die. In order to kill a vampire there are several techniques. Staking and decapitation are the most successful. Vampires unlike most folklore are able to be seen in the daylight. However they are affected it manifests by the loss of energy and they are very sensitive to the UV rays, its not odd to see them fully clothed with not much skin showing because to much UV can send them into a fever, pure exposure to the sun for to long of a period can also kill a vampire. In appearance vampires are often very akin to humans, other then the fact that they tend to have a very pale complexion and are not highly social. Tending to keep more to themselves and their own species they do not enjoy large amounts of human interaction. When it comes to 'powers' vampires have a strong compulsion strength over others, this applies to werewolves as well. This becomes stronger with age (most newborns do not have the power or control) This ability affects humans the strongest it is not a 'mind control' rather it is the ability to imprint ones desires or thoughts/needs on another. The best connection is through eye contact when the Vampire speaks soothingly to its victim, in the most extreme cases a elder vampire can get its victim to self mutilate if not kill themselves with this power. Additionally Vampires are in some way spiritually connected with their creator. This is usually in the elder vampire's best interest but it can also become troubling because they are able to locate each other easily and usually have some form of emotional involvement (lust, friendship, brothers ect). There are three different subgroups in the whole Vampire species. The first being what is most often termed as a Newborn Vampire these are vampires that have just been transitioned and are between the ages of 0 and 50. A newborn vampire can be impulsive and dangerous. They usually are lacking in humanity and revel in their new abilities. These are the ones that run around killing whole small towns because of their blood lust. It is very hard to control a newborn but once they are controlled they can make good pawns. The second subgroup is what is called the Mature Vampire these are usually between the ages of 50 to 200. They are normally more 'controlled' and have learned to control their blood lust but they are still known to slip and fall back into chaos. This subgroup makes up the greatest population of the vampire species. The last group is that of the Ancient Vampire these vampires are usually very powerful and dangerous. They are between the ages of 200 and beyond. A ancient vampire can control not only humans but also other vampires because of there extreme strength and compulsion powers. NATURAL ABILITIES Heightened Senses: Having the ability to hear a near silent whisper or the pounding of a heart, the ability to see in complete darkness, and of course taste and any other sense is heightened. Inhuman Strength and Speed: Not as strong as a werewolf but considerably a good match Vampires are extremely fast. They are certainly stronger then any human and come very close to matching a werewolf but it is their speed that makes them so deadly. Immortality: Vampires are immortal and with age comes strength and power. Compulsion: The ability to impose ones thoughts, emotions, and wants on a human and werewolf is a priceless ability to a vampire. The older a vampire is the stronger their ability to put someone under compulsion. The only species they are unable to use this on are shifters and anyone that is ingesting Verbena. Blood: A vampire is strongest just after feeding. They can move faster and have greater strength. Blood also makes their compulsion stronger as well. Additionally if a vampire was to feed of a drunk, drugged or sick individual they would also experience the same effects. Chemical Control: A vampire has the ability to eject a chemical through their fangs into the victim they are feeding off of. This chemical can become highly addictive because it causes the body to release endorphins of pleasure. However on some victims it can cause the opposite to happen. If a victim is continually fed from they go into a drug like state and it takes a long time to come off the chemical in their blood system. ADDITIONAL NOTES ++Because vampires have such heightened senses and emotions they tend to be on extreme sides of any axis. They are a very passionate race and never do things without loads of emotion. ++Verbena is a basically a vampires wolfsbane. It causes them to become very week and they also cannot feed of someone that drinks Verbena. A small tolerance can be built up to this flower but still it causes great pain and weakness when ingested or if they are touched with it. ++When feeding a vampire in a way changes their face. As the fangs are extended they also cause the pupils of the eye to enlarge and become completely black and the rest of the eye becomes red. A vampire however when not feeding is able to look completely human. The scent of blood can trigger a change in their facial features however if they are still young and not in control. ++A vampire does not have the ability to digest food, so it makes no sense for them to consume human food, however some of them miss the old habit and so they do. Their taste buds are also weakened but they are not dead. ++Oxygen is not necessary for a vampire, because their lungs no longer function. However they can force air in and out of their lungs allowing them to do things such as smoke or pretend to breath in front of humans. Many to breath simply because it is second nature to them. ++Vampires do not have a beating heart, and yet they still, through some sort of supernatural means seem to have a blood flow. Without a blood flow, a vampire could not bleed, or react to drugs, which they clearly do. This is a big mystery but the answer is that it does happen, for whatever reasons. Lots of things can be confusing when dealing with a dead body that is being kept alive because of demon properties, so it's best to not think much on how these things are possible, just that they are. ++A bite from a werewolf kills a vampire unless they are able to drink the blood of the werewolf that bit them. The blood of a werewolf to a vampire is disgusting because it tastes like wet dog. ++A vampire must be invited into a house residence, however they do not have to be invited into a building or business establishment. ++Blood from a vampire can cause a human to heal at the same rate as a vampire, however if they are drained with the blood in their system they will go through transition into becoming a vampire. |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 340px; background-image:url(http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/yellowtophatter/2ptq97l.png); padding: 30px; border: #48788c solid 30px; ] SHIFTER Shifters are often times lumped together with the werewolf community, due mainly to the fact they are able to change into a animal. However there are several differences that makes shifters into their entirely own species. Looking at the history of the species it is clear however that they are related to werewolves in a distant cousin sort of way. History shows us that in the beginning the land was full of many different species and among them was the shifter. These creatures where able to change into any sort of animal they so desired and at will without any aid. However in the shifter population it became somewhat of a trend to mate/partner with another shifter that shared the same dominant animal. So for example a dominant lion shifter would mate down with another lion shifter. This became the trend and slowly the ability to change into any sort of animal began to fade. So that it is now narrow incredibly, so that if a shifter child will always become either their father or mothers dominant animal. This is determined much like the sex of a child is with the Y and X chromosomes. This is also how werewolves began actually, the dominant wolf pairs continued to do this until they only produced wolves but the race was also cursed long ago to be controlled by the moon, however that is a different history all together. The only way to become a shifter is to be born from a father and mother that are both shifters. If a shifter chooses to mate with a human the child becomes a hybrid and will not be able to shift at all, they can develop differently with abilities pertaining to the animal of the dominant parents shift. Most people assume that a shifter is able to shift without any sort of 'aid' or by choice. However this is not true. It is rare that anyone but a shifter knows this information simply because if humans or others found out it could be used against them. Every shifter has a 'token' that is given to them by a parent, it has been enchanted using old magic to allow them to shift at choice. However they must be in physical contact with the token in able to do this. Tokens can take up many different shapes and sizes, for example a small carving of an animal (usually the shifters), or a necklace. They can be anything. But they are very important and most shifters never reveal the truth behind such objects. Much like a werewolf when in human form there is nothing physical that gives a shifter away. They literally are just like a human in appearances. Though just like every species they do have a give away, but you must have a sharp eye to see a shifters. Whatever animal the shifter morphs into usually affects their behavior because the two are one in the same. For example a cat shifter will often times have mood swings, or be extremely playful or spiteful. They tend to be quick on their feet and enjoy toying with people. They are very intelligent and when chosen they adore physical touch. Small things like this always carry over into a shifters human form and personality. The largest difference between a werewolf and a shifter is that a shifter does not have a 'beast'. The animal form does not control them and it is not a sort of different personality. A shifter is both an animal and human at the same time, there is not distinguishing between the personality of each. A shifter does not have a exaggerated life span like a werewolf or vampire. They have normal human life spans and usually go about living in the human population just like a normal...well human. Shifters tend to enjoy the company of other shifters and dont mind werewolves either, but usually they dont seek one another out unless it is to mate. There are two divisions in the shifter species. The first is the largest of the group and is known as the Changeling Shifter. A changeling is the product of two shifter parents. They take upon the animal form of only one of their parents. This group can shift at any time (so long as they have their token) and their personality is heavily affected by the animal spirit. However the second group in this species is known as the Carrier shifter. A carrier is the product of a single shifter parent and either a human or werewolf parent. This shifter cannot actually change into anything from human form. However they do still have animal like characteristics, these are usually only in personality or in actions (territorial, friendly, graceful ect). In some cases a Carrier also has some sort of physical mutation that gives away the animal spirit. It is suspected that because only half the parents genetics where from a full shifter the animal spirit was unable to fully attach to the child and so they cannot phase into an animal at all. Though they are still able to communicate with shifters, and also to share kinship with their animal spirits form. NATURAL ABILITIES Good Health: Due to the fact that they have a strong link with the animal form shifters usually have very good health. They tend to get sick rarely, and age very well. Animal Characteristics: This is most heavily prevalent in the Changeling subgroup of shifters but it is also there in the Carriers. A shifter because they are both animal and human in one body demonstrate their animal characteristics often. If a shifter has a very elegant animal they tend to be very graceful in their human form. Personality traits transfer over as well. A Carrier shifter can have some slight physical altercations to their body (such as angled eyes, better eye sight or hearing, odd coloring in their hair ect). Resistance to Compulsion: Because the vampire race loves to feed off shifters it is important that they be able to defend themselves. They are able to resist all compulsion from a vampire. Identifier: Shifters have the odd ability to quickly identify any species. Perhaps it is their animal spirit that allows this to happen but they can spot out a vampire miles away. They can also pick out other shifters as well as their shifts. Shifters tend to stick together because of this reason. Kinship: Because the animal spirit is part of who they are a a shifter has the ability to speak and communicate to animals that share the same form as themselves. Of course it is not like speaking with a human its more emotions and thoughts but they still can communicate with animals. They are also easily accepted into any group of animals that share their form as well. It is not rare for a shifter to disappear and be found with its animal kind. ADDITIONAL NOTES ++Werewolves can mate with shifters. However the children of said relationship will never become a werewolf. The child will always become a Carrier shifter and only have the characteristics of their shifter parent. ++The time a shifter phases is usually around the age of puberty. So it can depend on the child. This phase is usually somewhat painful so parents tend to keep it from their children until they feel they are ready. Sometimes though there is no option because the animal spirit is so strong and forces the phase. ++Vampires crave shifter blood so it is not rare to see a shifter x vampire couple. However it is a shame in the shifter community so it is not accepted at all. ++A shifter when in animal form must look like the 'realistic' animal. There are no rare colors or different eye colors. They of course may appear larger in size but the norm is that of the animal species. ++A Werewolf bite does nothing to a shifter. ++When shifting the token does not phase with the animal. So if it is a piercing for example it remains imbedded in the skin (this can be very uncomfortable) but in other cases if the token was a necklace it must be hidden or placed in the care of someone the shifter trusted.If a token is loss the shifter looses their ability to shift from animal or human form. ++If a Carrier shifter mates with a Changeling the children will be full Changeling shifters. |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 340px; background-image:url(http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/yellowtophatter/2ptq97l.png); padding: 30px; border: #ffc48c solid 30px; ] HUMAN Humans populate and claim the dominance species over earth. They are also the largest population in Bad Rock. The numbers of humans compared to Werewolves and Vampires is extravagant. Which of course makes them a good food source to the supernatural community. Most humans are completely naive to the supernatural world that exists among them. And of course when accidentally involved a human usually makes it to the dinner table or they are changed over. Humans are a intelligent species and so they are quick to adapt to anything strange in the environment and there are always those that have been 'enlightened' that choose to embrace the strangeness, or fight against it and become Hunters. When a human chooses to support the Werewolves or Shifters they usually tend to be embraced by the shifting community and are put to work right away doing random things that benefit the supernatural community. However when a human chooses to associate with the Vampires it is usually in hopes of becoming one, they are often used for blood and other such...needs. Humans are truly the weakest in this balancing system but they are smart and capable of defending themselves if they are aware of the situation at hand, but in all honesty it is only numbers that they can brag about. SUB-GROUPS Aware & Ignorant: These are the majority of most humans if not the dominate percent. A human can either be aware of the supernatural community and attempt to live and continue life without letting this throw them off the axis. Or a human can be ignorant, which is perhaps preferable considering so many problems can be overlooked if you are in the dark. Sympathizer: Sympathizers are the special people that have found out about the odd supernatural community and wish to take part in the community as a whole. Sympathizers will do anything in their ability to help their so selected favorites this either being vampires, werewolves or shifters. Of course sympathizers are welcome in the supernatural community but they are not considered very important at all. There are two very different types of sympathizers however. The first being the Heart Kin, this is a human who supports the werewolves and shifters. They are welcome among the packs and groups, usually used as foot soldiers and to infiltrate the enemies structures. Shifters and werewolves take exceptional care of their Heart Kin, and usually allow them sanction in the packs mansion and support them in anyway possible. It is not rare to see mates form between the werewolf/shifter community and the Heart Kins. The second group is known as the Red Face this is a human who supports the vampires. The Vampires gave the nickname to their human servants when they noticed the flush in their cheeks and it has stuck ever since. Red Face's are often used to feed from and to control the human population. They are usually very financially stable because of their mortal support. Hunter: These are men and women who have devoted their lives to killing the supernatural creatures running around earth. They have no special ability other then those they have trained into themselves. Hunters are also usually trained by their family and have expansive knowledge on the lore of each species. They are always around when odd activities are afoot. Of course a hunter can be any species but the dominate is the Human. Hunters have a very deep hatred of the supernatural community and would prefer to see them all wiped out. Hunters are very good at finding the loop holes when it comes to killing the unwanted species running around, because they do not fully believe that a vampire is immortal, or that a werewolf should live till they are five hundred years old. Witch & Warlock: Witches and Warlocks unlike most common belief do not posses all powerful magic. Instead the power that a witch or warlock can have is drawn from certain spells, incantations, potions and objects. Most witches come upon their magical abilities by accident, a witch can only control power if for example her family has a line of witches in it. It is in the blood, a witch cannot be trained or made they must be born. Any magic a witch or warlock does takes its toll on them physically so it is through age that a witch or warlock gains their power and endurance. A witch/warlock has the ability to drain a vampire of their power, or to harm them through certain spells and incantations however none of this is permanent and a vampire can recover quickly. A witch/warlock is strongest when they have a natural element to draw power from, for example when reciting a spell a witch may use fire or water because of its enduring strength. A witch was only created to keep balance to nature, and so it is not rare to see them trying to prevent vampires from harming people. But if a witch uses her power to 'create' a vampire then it costs her a life. Inevitably though witch or warlock is just a human that has discovered witchcraft. ADDITIONAL NOTES ++A Hunter can be any species but there is usually some confusion and chaos when they are anything other then a human. ++Witches have the ability to pick up on any species by a simple touch because they can read the aura that each gives off. So by a simple graze of a shoulder a witch can if a person is a vampire of shifter (they cannot tell the animal shift of a shifter however). ++If a witch does a to complicated spell the energy required can kill her. Witches can link their energy together to greater spells. ++Witches can create a vampire. This requires the sacrifice of one life (usually the human being used) and then the calling of a evil spirit to reanimate the body. These are rare and it is very hard to create but a very powerful witch can do this. |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 340px; background-image:url(http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/yellowtophatter/2ptq97l.png); padding: 30px; border: #a1a1bb solid 30px; ] IN RELATION TO ONE ANOTHER IMAGE OF CHARACTER HERE 352 X 220 |
Werewolves & Vampires /// Werewolves and vampires despise one another, it is not uncommon to see blood oaths taken to destroy the other race. However there is no true reason why the two species hate one another, and there have been those that can over look the differences in the species. But a werewolf essentially is a protector and friend to humans whereas a vampire is completely the opposite. A werewolf is stronger physically then a vampire on certain days of the month when the moon is at is strongest, however they pale in speed and are usually at the same strength during the majority of the month. A bite from a werewolf in the wolf form will poison a vampire and only by ingesting a werewolf's blood will the vampire be healed (but we can all assume this is not likely to happen often).
Shifters & Werewolves /// These two are actually quite fond of one another. They are close in relation and they tend to enjoy spending time in each others company. Its not rare to see a shifter joining in a pack meeting or a pack hunt (usually the larger shifters of course) and it is forbidden to hunt a shifter. If a werewolf or other shifter is ever found to be hunting a prey shifter it is under penalty of death. It is common knowledge between the two species that werewolves are the dominant if not stranger of the two but there is equal respect between the two. These two species also sometimes will choose one another as mates, however a werewolf cannot be produced through this union and a bite cannot infect the children either. The product is always a Carrier Shifter.
Vampires & Shifters /// Shifters dont enjoy the walking dead and if anything greatly fear them. In strength they are no match for a vampire unless in their animal form but even then they can be over powered. Vampires also greatly enjoy the taste of shifter blood, because it is much sweeter and has more nutrients in it due to the animal side of things. Its not uncommon to have vampires preying on shifters. The only strength a shifter has over a vampire is the ability to resist compulsion altogether.
Humans & Other Species /// Each species group views humans differently. For a shifter humans are their main social element and their world really. They are much like a human except their ability to morph and so they have great respect for humans and rarely ever attempt to lord over the lower species. Werewolves also enjoy the human population and are not afraid to integrate them into the werewolf society. However biting a human is frowned upon unless the biter is able to care for the newly changed werewolf. Humans have never found any issues with the majority of the shifter and werewolf community. However with werewolves there is a great understanding of superiority. For vampires humans are simply a source of food. Of course some vampires associate in the public eye and are able to control their blood thirst, but there is a deep engrained impatience for the slow and weak race. Vampires usually only see humans as pawns in their own game.
